4 Months and Garden Beginnings

Our little man is four months old already. About two weeks ago Gunner started rolling over, March 18th to be exact. At only 3 and a half months, seriously? I fear I might be in trouble if the mobility stages are starting this soon. Gunner was starting to do great at night too, until this last week he decided to mix things up a bit and began waking up several times a night again. Awesome. I am crossing my fingers that it is just because he has had a cold and not been feeling to great. Also, just last week, March 25, Gunner gave us a small laugh- nothing big yet, but so much fun to hear. Also, I am pretty sure he is in the beginning stages of teething, because he is a major drooler these days. He is still a pretty mellow guy and quite happy most of the time too. We love you Gunner man. This picture is Gunner right after he rolled over- drool face and all

A couple of weeks ago we started a little garden. We are trying out the square foot gardening method and put in two four by four foot plots. So nothing too big, but we are super excited. We are new to the whole gardening thing too so this is sort of a trial run for us, so we planted a little bit of everything. We planted tomatoes, onions, strawberries, carrots, green peppers, jalapeno peppers, potatoes and some beans. We are really looking forward to seeing how it progresses and learning as we go. Texas

A few weeks ago the kiddos and I went for a quick visit to Texas. We had so much fun! The weather was just starting to warm up so we took full advantage and went to the arboretum and the zoo. It was so great to see family, thanks Em for letting us come stay with you!

The flowers at the arboretum are sooo pretty!!

The Dallas Zoo just came out with a new area that is so cool. You can get super close to some of the animals, this giraffe even licked Caroline a few times. Kind of gross, but she was in heaven.

A Typical Sunday

A typical Sunday morning around here is pretty crazy, we have 9 am church and live about 30 minutes away from the building. Lets just say we do our best to make it on time, but usually end up with a seat in the back :-) A typical Sunday afternoon usually ends up like this one did- Caroline and dad having way too much fun! Also I wanted this day to be documented because, take a closer look and you will see little miss Caroline has a clip in her hair- it is no secret that her hair is taking a while to grow and that it is bright blonde, so the little bit of hair that she does have growing you can hardly see. But a clip in the hair is what we call progress around here!

Love these two

3 Months and Our House As Of Late

Gunner is 3 months old. Oh, how I hate my kids growing up so fast! Sometimes I wish I could lock my little ones up right now and keep them my babies forever. As hard as they are, I love these years while my kids are young. We are in the process of finding a new pediatrician right now so I don't have any stats on weight and such, but I still wanted to give an update on our little man. He is doing really well these days. He is mostly just carefree and smiles and keeps entertained by watching his sister Caroline. He has his moments but they are slim, we feel pretty lucky with this guy. He is a joy to have in our family. He is not a fan of baths, which is soooo opposite of his sister. He is afraid of the water and hates the being cold part after while we are getting him dressed. He is learning to sleep better at night too which is making for a very happy mom! Heres to hoping he sleeps through the night soon!

I tried to get some good pictures of the kids together.

This is how most of them turned out.
Love my sweet Caroline

Days have been spent pretty casually around our house, we have loved the warmer weather and are usually outside walking or at the park, and if you don't find us there, we probably have our heads stuck in a book we just picked up from the library, or a favorite of mom and Caroline, making cookies. Starting early on his love for books
A favorite thing of Caroline's is bath time. She loves to be wrapped up "burrito style" in her towel to dry off.

Caroline is sharing with her brother and "reading" her books to him.

My Boys

Just wanted to give a shout out to my boys and how much I love them. Brett truly is a great father and works so hard for our family- I couldn't feel more blessed. Gunner is as sweet as ever and loves to talk and smile all day long, and all night long. Still working on that one :-)

You can't tell very well by looking at this picture, but Gunner is wearing a shirt with a picture of Brett's truck on it that was hand made by our friend Melanie who is super nova talented.

Who's driving this thing?
I LOVE my boys

Nascar anyone? Look closely and you will see that Gunner and Brett are sporting shirts to support the favorite driver around our house, #99. This past weekend was the Daytona 500, for any of you who don't know nascar, this is one of the, if not the biggest race of the year for nascar. I am sure watching nascar together will be something these guys do together for a long time coming.

Also, this past weekend we celebrated Brett's 28th birthday together. As tradition goes, we made trifles instead of cake to eat.

Yeah, there's 28 candles in there.

Cabin Fever

Lately we've had the itch to get out to the cabin- so last weekend we packed up and headed out for a little getaway with the kiddos. My parents and brother Jared met us up there too so it was even better! We had a great time!

Caroline trying out the tire swing for the first time and loving it.

We attempted family pictures, this one would have been great if Caroline were smiling.

This is another attempt, not too bad except for Gunner is giving us his scowl face.

Caroline had too much fun playing with grandpa

And grandma Love this cute face Deciding whether or not she wants to ride the four wheelers, she opted to just wear the helmet.

Ducks

We live just down the road from a great pond. The recent super cold weather has kept us inside mostly, but the other day we decided to brave it, bundle up and head out to feed the ducks. While we were only there for a short time we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!!

Look at the expression on her face! Also, check out her awesome hat that she wanted to wear!
