Since this year we sent our first and oldest off to school we decided it would be fun to have a "back to school party" to make the occasion something to look forward to. We want school to be fun for our kids, so we are hoping to make this an annual event. We made pizzas and had sparkling cider and for dessert we had blue cupcakes. We also decided on a "family theme" for the school year that we will try and reiterate through family nights and such. Our theme is sweet and simple, "always be kind",we want our kids to remember how important it is to be nice to others.
We also gave each of the kids a small gift to make it more fun!

Caroline's first day of school was bittersweet. She was very excited! I however, was a ball of nerves all day. Brett dropped her off and I picked her up, and that has been a good routine for us so far. She seems to really enjoy it, other than being tired and a little whiny when coming home, all day kindergarten is hard for a five year old. She goes from 7:50- 3:15 everyday. She is already learning so much and I am so proud of her!
