Very Merry Christmas

Christmas was a new experience for us this year. Brett was on call, so we had a very merry Louisiana Christmas of our own at home. No traveling, no extended family, just us. In a way, it was nice, no hustle and bustle, no running around from place to place, especially nice because everyone of us was recovering from a serious case of gastritis just days before Santa visited. On the other hand, it was sort of weird and a little too quiet at times, family and the craziness were missed. Either way, the four of us were together, we were lucky enough to have Brett with us all of Christmas day, we watched our sweet kids shriek with excitement as they saw what Santa brought, and we attended a beautiful sacrament meeting filled with music and an overwhelming feeling of the Spirit. I'd say it turned out to be pretty good this year.

We made a plate for Santa and left some carrots for his reindeer.

Opening presents very intently.
We enjoyed seeing some new places and things this holiday season. We found a great spot down by the river.
We also went down to see the festival of lights in Natchitoches.
This was our try at a picture of Brett and I....maybe next time.
While walking around town we found a chair with Caroline's name on it.
I love you.

A Little Fun

We love getting bundled up and going to the park!
Especially when dad can come too!
When we were out and about the other day we saw a big line of motorcycles about to go for a ride and santa was at the lead. Merry Christmas!

Happy Birthday Gunner

Gunner man turned one last week. I can not believe it!!! We had a nice family birthday together. We ate pizza and I made an alligator cake for the occasion.Gunner is still not interested in walking, he is pretty content just crawling everywhere for right now. He loves to eat, but only certain things. He is still our tall and skinny guy. At his one year check up he was just 19 pounds, which is about 10 percent for weight, but he was up to 80 percent for his height. Gunner has four teeth, 2 on top and 2 on bottom. He loves doing everything Caroline does and follows her everywhere. He already loves elmo and cars. We love you so much Gunner and are so glad you joined our family last year! We can't imagine our home without you. You are such a joy! Happy birthday baby boy. Love mom, dad,Caroline and Elliot.

Thankful

We are so thankful for the wonderful Thanksgiving we had!! This year since everyone in my family is doing different things for Christmas we decided to get together for Thanksgiving at the cabin. It could not have been more fun, it was crazy and busy and filled with late nights and good times. You can't have it any other way when all 31 of us get together! I am so thankful for family and memories!! I cannot wait until the next time we can all be together again!! I am truly blessed to have wonderful parents and siblings. And a good husband who I love more everyday and 2 sweet kids that melt my heart.
The grand kids all together, (minus 2 that were already in bed.)
Me and Lee
Normally my family does the turkey trot on Thanksgiving in Dallas, since we were in Oklahoma we decided to make and run our own Foote family Turkey trot this year. LeeAnn made everyone name tags and numbers to wear too. This is everyone right before the start. It was alot of fun. There was even a finish line for everyone to run through.

Grammy and Grandpa Larsen Visit

Grammy and Grandpa Larsen came to Louisiana last weekend. It was so much fun to have them visit. The kids especially loved it!  One day we took then down to Natchitoches which is only an hour and a half from here. It was so beautiful there. Its a great little touristy town. We will definitely visit again.

The Fair

A few weeks ago there was a little fair in town. We thought it would be fun to take the kids. It was nothing near what we are use to, but then again- what can compare to the Texas State Fair. It was fun anyway to take Caroline on some rides.
Here she is all ready to go with her sunglasses on.
Going on her first ride with dad.
The Gunner man.
 Riding the carousel with mom.
Caroline and dad going down the slide together.
 So Much Fun.
